Basic 12 - How long

Hi,

I'm working on basic 12, I've got the username : password thing, and I'm running a scan thing with JTR to try and crack it.

So far it's been running for two days. My computer has a 1.2 processer, so it's not too slow, and it's just doing a normal scan, not with any of those letters in front.

So should it have guessed it by now? Or am I doing something wrong?

wow 2 days… i'm at an hour and a half right now, hopefully i don't have to go 2 days:o

dont' brute force use a word list.

a word list? Okay.

alway susea wordlist first, they take about 5 seconds and can save you days if you have to resort to a brutforce.

If you bruteforce at 16 characters it takes (my pc) about 13years to check 'em all :P

And my pc is quite fast: 3.4GHz

lol what program would you tell to a recent member (or noob; or something like that) like me, to crack that msgbox?

I would like to crack it; but I'm using no proxy bout now xD

i just used cain and ables wordlist with jtr, and it cracked it in like 5seconds… if you want to know how to do it just read around on the forums, or send me a message.

btw - there are any web-based crackers for use with phpBB sites, (working with mission 12? )
