Basic 7 -- Finished but Not Totally Understood

Hello, after some reading about SQL injection and many attempts, I finally finished this challenge but I dont understand how is that what I did worked, so… is there anyone I can PM about it?

I do get what you have just explained, but what I do not understand is why in every video, or explanation about SQL injection that I found, they placed the 1=1– or the ' in the url after the whatever= …. This challenge took me a while because I was trying that, instead of typing the 1=1– in the password box, and that is what I dont get, why in the challenge I have to use the password box and why in the videos and guides they use the url.
