Run Program before boot

I would like to create a program that will run off a CD that i can run before windows boots. I want to do this to extract the SAM file. The computer doesnt have a floppy drive so that is out of the question. This isnt so much a specific question as a general… how would i go about making a program that would run off a CD before windows boots.

I know i can just boot a live distro but i was really just wondering about the whole process of creating somthing that will boot.

Dont really understand what you mean, do you want a CD to automate the process and write the SAM file somewhere? or do you want the SAM file cracked by the OS on the CD or what?

it sounds to me like you want to make your own miniature operating system for getting the sam file :/

don't bother, just mod a pre existing linux distro to do the job
