Trying to remove a worm
Hey guys,
this is going to sound lame but I accidentally downloaded a worm that was inside a serial code generator.
The worm is called VBSkidarcade, I've googled ways to get rid of it but no luck…It is picked up when I run my spyware remover (I use XSoftSpy) but it copies itself upon deletion so I'm not sure how to get rid of it…
Is there some sort of way to get rid of this junk quickly and simply without copies being left behind?
Download Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy if you haven't already.
Note write down the locations they say for the worm, then reboot into safe mode. Delete the files manually, then reboot into normal windows and run the scans again.
If that fails, get HijackThis and post the log so we can have a look at it.
