virtulization

Hey, last night I was looking into virtualization using vmware from fedora core 5 to windows xp home, I currently dual boot these on different hdds. as it turns out vmware doesn't support fedora yet so after spending a while emulating redhat directory architecture and installing some obscure rpms I got it to install and work correctly… but then I ran into a bigger problem…. vmware requires hat I re-install windows on a partition of the linux hdd. My question is; does any one know of a way to use vmware to boot off of an allready installed os on a different hdd? Or does any one know of another type of virtualizing software to do this. The host os must be linux and the guest is win32 xp home (support 64)
