I recently removed some things from my desktop and the icons where still there. I couldn't click on them, and they didn't show up in the cmd.

I changed my wallpaper, and they went away.

Just wondering if anyone knew why they stayed there?

Windows 7 64bit btw.

Are you sure someone else didn't change your background to be a picture with icons in it? :P

If not, I'd say it's probably just a bug with Windows.

I'm sure. All the other icons where functional. I think it was a bug because I moved the folders , then canceled in the middle of it.

Windows 7 64bit btw. I've had a similar problem before where I deleted a file on my desktop but it still showed up, and if I tried to delete it again it popped up an error messages saying the file doesn't exist. It goes away if you just right click and do a refresh.
