HBH video tutorial...

Hi, would you mind if i made a video tutorial for one of the challenges at HBH and posted it on YoutTube? I think it would gather more people.

Personally, I like the idea. Just keep it spoiler free.

but a vid tutroial would suggest alot of spoilers

True, but it seems more like courtesy than obligation.

The whole idea was to show the user how to do the first realistic challenge. I would basically tell them how to do it but i wouldn't give em any of the the important things so they'd have to do it.

It's supposed to make people sign up and have a look around, rather than giving them a walkthrough on all the challenges.

i think its a bad idea as we could possibly get loads of noobs completing real 1 and maybe basic 1 thinking "wow i just hacked something, i must be a awesome hacker" then filling up the forums with crap.

there are better ways to publicise hbh

i dont think hbh needs to be publishied more i mean just look at the number of hits its getting. and yea i agree with u koolkieth i think there are better ways to get more ppl if u wanted to

i think the idea would be fine if you cut it up. show bits and pieces of of the challenge and give some hints during the video. that way people can do it on their own but they will see that they are on the right track.

by the way its a good thing that you asked, if you have noticed the comments here, you would probably be flamed by half the community if they found out about it on their own.

Ok, Here is the question again, but in a different way.

Will i get banned for uploading a video walkthrough for the first realistic challenge but NOTHING else?

P.S. Youtube won't ban it, there are loads of vids that "show you how to hack" on there. They aren't banned.

I'm no admin but I doubt that you'll be banned. However I'm not sure whether we really need challenge video tutorials (no offense, just my opinion).

If you show them where to look (source, headers, folders, whatever) then you'll kinda spoil the mission. And if you don't, it'll be unnecessary to show the video at all :|

Sometimes people learn through spoilers. It can be sort of initiation for other realistic missions.

In My Opinion, Coming Up With Challeges' Walktroughs Video, Isn't Good, Even Though Who Submitted It Won't Be Banned, But Video's About SQL PoC, XSS, RFI/LFI, etc… Such Type Of Videos Is More Acceptable Than That Useless Spoilers, That Learns Nothing But Addicting Not To Solve Challenges With Own Brain.
