Brainstorming to keep HBH running

Help us come up with ideas to help HBH. Heres what we already have- -Buy a t-shirt or membership -Donate through paypal

• Click a few ads every hour or so

Can you do ads from google adsense when already with AdEngage or does that = banned from both??

WHere the fuck is hackthissite hosted?

Some members could go bucket collecting in public and say it is for an animal anctuary or an orphanage?

Definitetly say it's for an orphanage - if that doesn't tug on people's heart strings, nothing will! Besides, we really will be orphans if HBH bites the dust, so it's not COMPLETELY dishonest…

Programmers For Hire? We have excellent programmers here who, i bet (i would) would be willing to work as a team to make some ca$h for HBH, we go on Programmers Freelancing Sites (there are tons, and the average price for a project is $500 - $1000)

Hackthissite is actualy hosted by the planet……

I dont think hackthissite is hosted on the planet. The other hackign sites like enigma group and hackthis site are hosted on their own dedicated servers. thats wat hbh needs. so donate money please :D

hackthissite is hosted on its own server in some dudes house. not on any public server in a datacenter.

A main problem is most of the hbh community is under 18 and actually under 15. This means finding a way to pay for tee shirts is difficult for them. If there was a way to do it w/o haveing to deal with parents, I'm sure many more donations would come in. Find a way for the young members to donate and post it for them to read and im sure you'll get more donations.

I just thought of a possibility. What if hbh could set up just a straight tee shirt site. Most of us could probably get a tee shirt then. I saw a site a while back that would set everything up for you and make the tee shirts and all that for $100. I'm gonna go look that site up and see what could possibly be done.

www.chitika.net have some good ads that make a bit of money, you could try them :)

All these ad sites are full of fuckin con artists. I think you could fit the ad under the chatb0x. We'd all have to click it twice a day at least

OK, heres a new idea. I heard that a visa gift card could be used as a credit card. What if we bought these and gave mr_cheese the number on them? Anyone know if that would work? Us younger members could do that.

we have people here that could do stuff like this (some of this stuff is crap easy for like $50) but we could have organized teams for large $1000+ stuff, and make challenges out of simple stuff, procedes to HBH

You get the same amount of points as your donation?? or rounded off? Something along the lines of points for donating, only donating though, cant have all the exclusive members having more points just cause they pay. or maybe they should……

I must say I am really loving Dark Dragons idea.

If we could auto divide HBH members into 4 roughly each team has own account and which ever team pulls in the most rent-a-coder money i thenext 3 months wins. Or you could leave it up to members to form their own teams

Haha Myself and hack4u have kind of allready started this idea! Check the threads! 'Offering our services' and 'Flash GFX for HBH'! Make a small donation and get your moneys worth! Not only do you save HBH but you get a new graphic or mentored by hack4u personally.

These oppurtunities aren't common!

There sould be more people offering help i think, like someone coding websites or programmers…. I'm talking help not make someone a program or website

no, that would never work. You would lose alot of the integrity of the scoring system by going down that route. Instead of the challenges being a contest of the mind, it would instead devolve partly into a contest of the wallet. The sad thing is that you could probably generate a fair amount of money by doing so, but it would come at the cost of some of value of this site.

It might be worth it however, to add more features to exclusive membership, as long as you avoid messing with the points system. Maybe give away wallpapers, programs, and the like. It maybe that any regular member who could get exclusive membership has, but the list of exclusive members does seem a little thin.

please can everyone who reads this thread just click the ads a couple times please, as from the current donations, HBH is only £40 away from being able to purchase 1 years hosting on a server in holland which it will share with just one other website!

I agree with Thucydides, we shouldn't mess with the points system. Cheese, I'm still working on getting the money to you for exclusive membership, but you'll get it soon (hopefully)
