active x control problems

i just bought a new game and i need to install direct x 9.0 but i can't. when i got to the microsoft website it install it is says there is a problem with active x controls and also i can not get microsoft updates becasue of this and not a cingle person at customer service knows what to do anyone got so advice?

Get someone who has it on a game disc i'll check but i have only found 8 up untill now.

Can ya tell me which web browser you are using and I'll try to help you out.

just as a quick tip if yer using Internet Explorer its probably a security setting do you see the infomation bar pop down? If your using Mozilla Firefox/Opera then the answer is these two browsers do not support Active X technology so for using windows update switch to Internet Explorer (and use Firefox for all other general browsing)

My final suggestion is you go to the download section of Microsofts website and download the Direct X 9.0c redistributable.
