Downloading

Okay, my computer downloads at a really slow rate, i was wondering is there anything that i can DL to make my download rate faster?

I know there are setting you can fiddle with on your browser (Firefox definatley, dunno about ie, I avoid it like the plague) to increase the download pipeline. Dunno what though. Try http://www.tweakfactor.com/articles/tweaks/firefoxtweak/4.html

Exept if every1 pipelines their firefox, in the end nobody is gonna profit cause as far as I know it increases the bandwidth u take up…

I use Download Accelerator for large downloads - got it from download.com. Yeah, it is very much adware, but it doesn't install anything extra. The only thing is that it has ads when the program is open. I like it because it really does download many times faster and you can pause and continue your downloads later if you lose a network connection or something - both very good for large downloads.
