Hi, I need help finding an OpenGL compatible driver for my old Dell C600 laptop (with a Rage Mobility 128 2x graphics card). The computer is running XP home. I've done some digging around but, found nothing. Thanks in advance for any help!

step one, go to the garden and get a sizable rock (trust me, you'll need it.)

step to, google the specifics of the new driver required.

step three, take the rock and drop it from a great height onto the computer.

then do a dance for the gods and your computer will run better than ever.

I don't know if you've already looked here, but the most obvious places to check are AMD or Dell

Not everything is a simple one Google search.

Nor do you know anything about hardware, it's not a "Dell" hardware problem if you can't find a driver properly… Here is yet another lesson on how to search Google properly.

Search #1 Google: "Old ATi Drivers" -> http://www.oldapps.com/ati.php Ask yourself: "What OS am I using?" -> Windows XP.

Search #2 Google: "RAGE Mobility 128" look at the date of a review, that's likely to be close to the release date: -> http://www.anandtech.com/show/505

So the Catalyst drivers you're interested in lie between versions 3.0 and 5.2 - unfortunately not dated on that website, but what do you expect for an old driver mirror that operates virtually for free…

Search #3

Just by googling "ATi Rage Drivers" the first link is: -> http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/legacy-xp.aspx They might work but it doesn't mention the mobility series on the page.

That pretty much exhausts all sources for drivers you're going to get. The only other OpenGL related issues known with Windows XP is the lack of said OpenGL DLLs - so just download them if it's missing them. (Usually works)
