Past few days i've been trying to install diffrent software on my ubuntu hd. i've been successful in none of my attempts. so i figure i must be doing something wrong. heres the latest problem: Installing Beryl this is like… my third try at this and i've been taking diffrent approaches each time. im following the instructions found here http://wiki.beryl-project.org/wiki/Install_Beryl_on_Ubuntu_Feisty_with_nVidia#Add_beryl_repositories_and_install_Beryl im gonna try the script (as they call it obsolete) method after i post thing. but theres the error i get after i do the 123 automatic one. heres the error that the command line gives. gpg –recv-keys 58403026387EE263 gpg –export 58403026387EE263 | sudo apt-key add -

try that first….might resolve some issues this kindof stuff is why i hate precompiles and easy-do programs like apt-get and yum

I second that! Beryl feels a little outdated to me now that I have switched.

Did u try this?

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

#deb http://……….. it is commented. Remove all the '#" from the url-s.(starting with 'deb')
