say I have a windoze box with vmware that runs Linux is it possible to start ssh or telnet through the Linux (in vmware) and ssh or telnet into it from the windows bit/partition/section/whatever it is…?lol thanks in advance.

Maybe an irrelevant question but would that serve a purpose, since you already have physical access to the computer and OS you're connecting to?
