Gaining a networked admin file.

Let's say I have a limmited acoount with loads of restrictions on a network. I can get to Command Prompt via a batch file, I can run a boot disk (ie. Knoppix) Is there any way I can create an administrator account from this limmited account, a local administrator account or a boot disk, etc?

Thanks. PS: I have permission to be doing this, I do security tests on computers. Sorry if this is going against the rules.

EDIT: Sorry, I think this is in the wrong section… it's probably meant to be in the General Hacking section… :o

Hey Wuzzie!

Well; I'm sure if you do security test on computers this wouldn't be a place you will check first. May I suggest www.google.com or antionline.com

I'm sure it's your parnets computer and you can't use limewire. =P (p2p is gay)

some admins are pretty stupid and u can make an acount with net user test /add or like net user localgroup administrators test /add Im not sure bout the syntax check it out also it probly doesnt work on the xp sp2 but worth a try.

This still sounds fake- you don't actually know anything and yet you have 'permissions' to test security. It all depends what's being run behind the scenes.

The whole point of this software is to be secure. If some kid can simply ask someone for how to bypass the security, why would companies and schools pay so much money for the software? Obviously this doesn't apply as well in hacking, but the scenario you're describing just sounds too fake.

If they let you test the security, then the situation is either one of two: they're looking for someone very talented, in which case they'd get someone who knows what they're doing, OR they're looking for a slightly more-informed-than-average person to look at things, in which case you won't be of any help as you're just trying to get direct answers instead of working for yourself.

yah good point, but then again if it's just a school or something it shouldn't be too hard… my school network admin guy is like some azn dude who doesn't know anything about computers and spends the schools budget money to buy himself nice hardware lol

and another thing, you can't just be like "i can do this this this, how can i do this?"

we need details, what's the OS? (i know windows but what version) is there any special security program running or just settings on windows? are you just saying you have permission like people say "this keygen is for educational purposes only"?

Just play around try any way to get into the system, how else would you find an exploit?

The easiest way is to hold the admin at gunpoint and tell him to let you in, but sadly that seems to be against the law in most civilized countries :D

I am serious, I do have permission to be doing this. Besides, is it like it matters? Has this site just managed to slip through laws because it is information so you know hiow people hack your computer so you can provent it, and if you "forgot your password and have files you need" , /\ you have permission. The computers are Windows XP Professional Corporate SP2. I already knew the cmd commands to make admin file (net user [username] [password] /add, net localgroup Administrators [username] /add) I have use dthis many times before and it only makes a local file. When I go to users and try to make a new one, it wont let you connect it to the domain. it just comes up with an error or asks you for the domain controller/admin's user and pass. I know 3 usernames that are domain controllers and I know the username and password of a previous account. It is niow either delted or disabled, I'm not sure which one. If anybody can help me out here it'd be great.

Why do you need admin? if you can boot a live cd you can just mount the filesystem the box is as good as yours from there. You should be able to expand on that. Also SMB is your friend
