I have a knoppix 5.1 Hd installtion.

i have been writing to my flash drive with my regular user account untill today. now the only account that can write to it is root. and thats only from the command line with is still buggy.. i can get it to echo to txt files but not copy and image file.

why can i not write from my regular user account?

the permissions are root only read and write with read for everyone else.. i tried chmod a+w /media/sde1 i got no output from the command but it didnt change the permissions at all. and recently when i start up the flash drives icon stays on screen even without the system mounted so i think its mounting it automaticly with root as the owner. i check /etc/fstab but there no line to mount /dev/sde1 at all.
