get off the internet. NOW!

lol jk

You're aren't meant to literally type in 'ip'.

Type in an ip address, like 127.0.0.1 (which is the fbi!!1)

TELNET (TELecommunication NETwork) is a protocol used on the internet… Usually connects to IP or Domains (which in turn will be converted into its IP) on port 23… You have to write this syntax "telnet 000.000.00.00" if you're in CMD screen or RUN command.. if you're in telnet screen just type "o" then hit enter, then the IP address..

:O

yeah well….. we will judge that ;)

put down the exact command and ip your typing in e.g. telnet 127.0.0.1 or whatever, its possible that u r trying to telnet a server that dosnt have the telnet service running.

Ok, we're all sorry for tricking you into thinking you have to use numbers.

The correct usage of the command is:

telnet I'm a total retard

see? no numbers there.

Well, let's just go ahead and keep that nonsense from going any farther. You had a question, it's been answered, references were given, and reasons why your original try probably failed are there.

If you have any further issues relating to the original question, then continue to post here. Otherwise, I think it's best that this thread dies gracefully.
