WiFi Signal Amplification

So… I bring a WiFi network adapter home ( Linksys Instant Wireless Series Wireless USB network adapter ) and I stuck it out my window. I found two networks :

The guy next door who works for AT&T :o

And something called "Public Internet"

presuming a WiFi network somewhere around here….

the problem is that the signals are too weak to do any real exploring.

So I split open the adapter and attached a TV addapter to the antana… This didn't do much, heh heh.

So, if anyone could tell me something about WiFi Singal Amplification that'd be great. I'm still googling…

Thanks!

well, this fucker who steals my wireless internet (2 doors down, better not be you :@ )

he uses this streching device. It looks like this:

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

and at the end of it, he has his adapter, which is able to pick up my signal.

i konw it does technically "increase the range" but you'll get a slightly better connection.

LOL

I have a hard time believing you.

Common, there must be a tech explination! I've looked all over google.

Some sort of like… power adapter mod.. or antenta mod or somethin!

EDIT : I'm in the process of saudering some speaker cable to where the little plastic antenna attaches, as attaching that to a TV antenna…

But this new suadering iron gets so hot, I'm afraid to leave it pluged in for very long.. It just know its going to be freaking final destination III…
