I'm having trouble with this one too, I must be applying the key incorrectly.. I also read there are a few spelling errors in another post.
Can anyone explain briefly how the key actually shifts the alphabet of the original text? With the key (8,4,-1) I was assuming it would be shifted by 8 positions for the first letter, 4 for the second, -1 for the 3rd, then start over and repeat itself in a cycle for the remainder of the message.
