Master Boot Record corrupted.

Seems theres a crisis every fourtnight with this website! We\'ll get there in the end though, what doesnt kill you only makes you stronger aye!

• The problem with the server was with the bootloader configuration.Based on the modified times of some boot-critical files, there were somechanges made on Aug 2 that caused the problem, it doesn\'t appear thatthe server had been rebooted since then. I\'ve run lilo from the rescuesystem to reinstall the MBR and the server is now up and running. AnyDoS attacks that may be happening are unrelated.

Friday the site started to get slow and we noticed another DDoS attack take place, luckily some admins were online and able to stop the attacks ensuring you guys suffered 0 downtime.

Later on we noticed the server had gone completely offline. So we setup a new IP and transfered the DNS across.

we then noticed that even the new IP wasnt responding, and our hosting serial console system wasnt responding either.

This made us question it was another DDoS. We contacted technical support and 24 hours later the problem was resolved.

Atleast its not another DDoS attack! However, because we changed IP\'s over and edited the DNS… it took longer for us to return because we had to reset the DNS back again.

So sorry for the inconvience and delay in getting the site back online, this wasnt something we had control over and had to be done via server engineers at the datacenter.
