The following article was written by me and has been a theory stuck in my head for a long time, I have only just tried spilling it out into words.
I know it is short as I have no idea how to make it longer without repeating what I have already written.
This is my theory on optimism and pessimism, it is quite biased towards my opinion and is based around the question 'Is the cup half empty or half full?'. This article also follows basic rules of maths.
According to people, if you answer this question with "Half full" you are optimistic, and if you answer it with "Half empty" you are pesimmistic.
I believe different. I believe if you answer with "Half full" you are a logical thinker and will understand the rest of this article. But if you answer "Half empty" you have no clue about your surroundings.
Now first off, my answer would be half full, and the explanation for this choice is this:
If you take a cup full of water and say that's one. Then, you take half out it becomes a half of one, 0.5, which is still a real number
If your answer is half empty I can show you why it would be wrong (in my eyes).
Take an empty cup which will be zero, and try and take half away, which would be half of zero, which isn't a number.
Therfore this shows the cup must be half full as half of zero is zero which we have already decleared as empty.
I shall end my article with this statement: "It's your choice what you answer the question with, but please understand my point."

beyond the point, but i just generally say the cup is twice as big as it needs to be

lmao, whenever someone asks me that, i drink it and say "all empty". anyway, id say that its an awesome article (hence my rating) bc it is quite close to my own theory of it.

BUT, the glass is indeed half empty. One half of the glass is empty, and the other half is full.
Good article that serves no purpose in anything. I enjoyed it.

0.5 not being an interger can also be classed as notbeing a number, and (0/0.5=0) 0 being classed as a number. < wrong
integers aren't the only numbers, look up rational numbers.

but it would be a 'full' empty (and 0 full) thus half of it being half empty (zero empty would mean its full of water):p

the idea in of that line is to show the contrast between them, there4 when u divide the whole ZERO by 2, u actulay not doing enything because then it will be like dividing a FULL glass, 1 , by 2, and then claiming its half empty, when its half full. in other words, if u say that an empty glass is a zero,then the half of the zero, is of course, zero. and the half of the half of the zero is also a zero..etc. nice idea 4 a convo :)

If you say half full you mean that the glass is 50% filled, if you say half empty you mean that the glass is 50% filled. Therefore the expression "half full" and "half empty" is the same thing, just different words for it. half full+half empty = Full

the way i see it, if half a glass of water is sitting there it is half full. i can only imagine it being half empty if someone is in the process of emptying it and it is halfway to being empty. this is a good article though system.

Nice. It makes sense too! You can't have 1/2 of nothing, so it really doesn't seem right!

Hmm. When I have a glass of beer which is 'half full', I'll make sure it gets empty ASAP ^^ About the article: Really makes no point, but the comments are fun to read :D thanks man!
