In this article I will talk you though the first there rooting chalanages, for more experienced members this will seem a little slow, but it is aimed at the newbies on the site. :D

Lets get started then!

Rooting one!

We should start by seeing what commands are aloud. We can do this by using the *"help" *command. Lets start by Nmaping, Nmap is a command line port scanner. Witch lists ports that are open.

After we nmap using we see that he has 3 ports open, The port we are interested in is 21, Which is FTP, FTP stands for File transfer Protocol, File transfer protocol is used for putting/taking/editing files on remote server. Now we can try too log in to FTP and find look at the help CMD.

Some basic FTP commands(Linux)

Opens - connects too a FTP server **CD **- Changes the folder you are viewing **cat **- opens text files

This should be enough info for you too work this out, remember one step at a time

Rooting two

Ok, now were on too rooting too, start by using the help command, Now we're in the folder **/sbin **so CD too home so we can get started. Now find out what folders are in here (using a command ;)) then we can go to the next folder and so on. There are only 3 folders, in the home folder, and there are only 3 files that need to be deleted ;)

Not really much i can say about the challenge . :P Easy huh?

**Rooting there **

In this challenge we need too root Keven's computer, and open the windows password files using a program he made in c++(hinthint) Now, Keep in mind that he is running windows.

Lets get started, Login as admin/admin14. Use the help command, Now lets start by listing the files in C (remember he programs in c++). Oh dear, we cant open that folder, But we're looking for a program he's already made where could that be saved ;). After we find it we need to run the program (just type the name of the .exe). Now type the help command and you will see a new option, now just open the windows password file (hint; Its in the folder that would aloud you to CONFIGer your SYSTEM)

Thats all from me, If you need any help try to google for windows/linux commands. Please rate/comment :D Also keep in mind these **challenges ** aren't like rooting what so ever, Just simulations to give you an idea, if you want too learn rooting learn about computer systems and networks.

Pretty good article. I would've rated awesome, but the typos and spelling errors kinda lessened the value of it. Also, I feel that you might be giving a bit too much info to people in this article. Granted, the rooting challenges are not hard at all… in that respect, there is a lot of work that should be done by the person attempting it. Oh, and I'm not a fan of challenge articles, really… unless they are exceptionally written.

Indeed, less spelling errors is equal to a greater rating. Good job though.

just little things like aloud/allowed and witch/which but it was pretty good. maybe link to a few pages on linux/unix commands. the rooting challenges do not go into enough depth to need much more of an article than this, so i guess you did your job. rated good. peace.

Good article but If you need this to complete the challenges I suggest you give up now, The challenges are way to easy and use simple commands.

Good article and one of the best rooting mission articles in my personal oppinion BUT … . there are loads of articles on rooting, I jus' wish there was not so much repetition of article's. This is why people complain alot about the articles needing tidying out.

But this is a good article don't get me wrong.
