Okay, I’m writing this to help those who have not got this yet and don’t have a clue like I did. I spent hours on this pulling my freaking hair out, so let me save you a little bit of frustration.

This challenge is a lot like a Cryptoquote (something I think I picked up off the forums), but it is not. I’m not sure if there’s even a word for this type of encryption truthly. Anyway, I tried using helpers (searched for in goggle) to help me solve this puzzle. This was a big waste of time, because there are two words in the puzzle that are very garbled. Probably purposely done so you have to use pen and paper, or a document to write it out, and your own brain.

The hint on the challenge says “addition and subtraction”. Hmmm, what does that mean?! Well, this means that each and every letter in the challenge can be figured out by addition and subtraction. How in the hell do we know what to use, or where to begin? Here’s a hint, you have to use ONE set number to add or subtract from each letter. The : (colons) are just spaces too btw. Remember from the past challenges how it was explained that A-Z = 1-26, yep write it out cause your going to need it. No I’m not going to tell you what the set number is either, defeats the purpose of a “Challenge”. Start playing with numbers, adding and subtracting from the letters and see what starts making sense. As I stated above this is not a cryptoquote, which means your NOT going to replace a cracked letter with the rest of the same in the challenge. EX. x=y -don’t replace all the x’s in the challenge with a y. As you go they all have the potential to be different, like x might equal a, b, and c. Understand? Good! On we go…….

Next, you have to figure out what letters to add to and which ones to subtract from. You should have your “set” number to use by now, and by now you should notice a pattern starting to form within the first 3 letters of the challenge. Do you see it? Don’t think to hard on this part, it’s pretty simple pattern guys/gals. This is the pattern you need to carry out on through the rest of the challenge. Almost forgot, when your adding and subtracting remember to carry on to the nearest number if you have to. EX. b = 2 , and if you have to minus say 5 you’d end up with W which = 23. You do this as well for addition, z =26 and if you had to add 6 which = f you would get F then. Get it, got it, good.

Remember I said that there are two garbled words. Once you have finished up the rest of the decryption come back to them. What are these suppose to mean?! Well, maybe you should try to reverse your “found” pattern and do these two words the opposite from the rest of the challenge. That was easy enough yea?

So now you got your sentence. You still might notice something kind of outa place. Two other smaller words maybe. It should be common sense on what they “should be”. Submit your sentence and get your 35 pts. Remember to capitalize, and there are no comma’s in the sentence. WALA, your done!! J
