To All HellBoundHackers

To All HellBoundHackers

To All HellBoundHackers:

I'd been hoping to post a bunch more of these, but Im guessing thats not gonna happen, so Ill give you one last newspost.

HellBoundHackers has always been a place of hope and inspiration for the thousands of members that come here everyday. People from all around the world come here to get to know others with similar interests. To learn about how computers work, to ask questions and gain knowledge. What makes this a crime?

HellBoundHackers is a community no different to any other.

Recently, it appears that the UK/US government hasnt been liking the idea of free-thinking individuals, namely hackers in this case. It started with them wanting to hand out ASBO equivilents without needing evidence. Now theyve gone as far as wanting to arrest mr cheese and take down hbh.

HOW MUCH LONGER ARE WE GONNA TAKE THIS?

If you care for HBH and Mr Cheese, read on.

Hear me, hellboundhackers, my plea to freedom and justice. For aslong as the internet exists, people have studied how it works with curiosity. No different to scientists or mathematicians, hackers are especially interested in one thing: Computers. What makes this a crime? Whats wrong with wanting to find out? For years, hackers have been able to learn in peace. Unless they abused their knowledge, everyone was fine with them.

Everything is changing. The UK courts can hand out the equivilent of an ASBO to suspected hackers without needing evidence of them breaking the law.

HOW IS THIS JUSTICE?

As it seems like we're about to witness, the SS can just arrest hackers, for no apparent reasons.

And the scariest part is this:

NOBODY IS GOING TO CARE.

The general public is gonna agree with the SS that a hacker like Mr Cheese should be arrested. They believe hackers are bored teenage geeks with nothing better to do than hack other peoples computers.

HOW MUCH MORE ARE WE GONNA TAKE?

Knowledge is not a crime.

SO GET OFF YOUR ARSES AND DO SOMETHING WE ARE HACKERS.

In response to for now shall be known as 996. What is wrong? Wrong is when a person sees something as being not right. Now is it right for a person to not correct somethign they see as wrong. Is it more wrong to stand idle and leave a problem incorrect when you believe that you should correct said something? It is wrong when you can fix a wrong but instead do nothing.

knut, If its none of your buisness, Its wrong to interfere. What you might think is wrong will seem right to somebody else, or they wouldnt be doing it, would they?

Wrong and right are subjective and are percieved by an individual. But You do understand the concept. But there is something you dont understand. Lets say some one wants to kill you, they think it would be right to kill you. But I see it as wrong. They should do what they feel is right but that wont stop me from doing what I think is right.

To them, killing you is right. To you, defending yourself is right. In the end, right and wrong mean nothing, as the physically or mentally stronger person will be the one surviving ;)

agreed BluMoose, but right and wrong matter to ethical hackers. thats what we're called to be on this site, isnt it? right and wrong matter when you are trying to be ethical.

Damn it I cant make you understand.

knut, how shit would life be if we all had the same opinions? I understand your opinion, personally agree with mine tho, know what I mean? ;)

and n30, "Ethical Hacking" is an excuse for hackers, to tell themselves theyre doing the right thing. And hoping that they wont appear so bad if theyre caught.

Defacing a site ethically is like breaking into somebodies house and spraypainting "Fuck Nazis" all over it.

It is not an opinion. What is right and what is wrong is infact subjective. So are you saying then right and wrong are not subjective and are not decided by each individual? Also I am not mad at you for not understanding, all I am doing is giving up.

ghost's avatar
ghost 18 years ago

Erm yehr thats subjective. Honestly, right now it seems right for me to whack u for sayin that (no offence n all). Are you saying that thats it's now a fact that it is right to whack you?

ghost's avatar
ghost 18 years ago

You still are unable to comprehend. Right and wrong are subjective. you believe it is right to whack me. While I believe it is wrong. There for you should do what you feel is right and I will do what I think is right. What I think is right would be to defend myself.
