Real 13 - encryption

can anyone tell me the encryption type used in real 13? The one you get after recovering your password, EG your password is : 73ea7d85aa55adf000eb14083e3662cfd1bee177

also, i swapped the letters and nubers out, for random ones, so its not the one i got in the challenge, no spoiler there. that may also mean that thats not actually an encrypted string anymore, but youll get the idea from it. any thoughts appreciated

giving away what type of encryption this is pretty much gives away the challenge part of it. Look up different encryption methods used in cryptography and you will find your answer. It IS a common encryption method.
