14hash

ok. working on 14. searched for vulnerabilities and didnt find anything i couldent guess. went to the d*******y found the thumb thing? saved it and need to crack it. i got hackin the box cus john the ripper doesnt work for me. and i cant firgure out what to to with it. my first idea was one way hash right? well i pasted… the whole text document in there cus i cant identify the individual hash… is that ridiculously stupid? i also tried opening the file directly with htb. other hash stuff said "unspecified length. wtf idk how to identify length. gonna google it and see if i can find what i need. any ideas? am i missing something? this is my 1st time working with a cracking program. go easy

get cain and abel, open it and go to Cracker. then go to add new, add the hash, right click, and use a dictionary attack. you will need a wordlist, any will do for this challenge. The hash is called an md5, it is one way and a dictionary or brute force attack is the only way to beat it.

looking for cain and able. would a dictionary attack via htb work?

got one… bunch of diffrent files… all which need to use the web to find a program to open them with…

… cant find hash/it wont accept the only thing in the notepad doc that isnt giberish
