hi, i´ve found the hash, and now i´m cracking him with john the ripper… how much is password long? how much time john spend on it? because i cracking this pass about 6 hours…:|

the best help would be to get one of the wordlists on jtr site as the password is a word

ftp.openwall.com/pub/wordlists/all.gz

It is a wordlist and it will be cracked in less than 2 minutes

Unzip it and rename to password.lst

And copy it to /john/run/

ok but i have another problem… i downloaded the wordlist, but i am using john on linux (fc6) so there must be another place for wordlist, anyone knows ?

You can crack it with JTR but you can also search the hash on google ;) ! Good Luck man

try just using the directory you are in :D

ex: john wordlist=password.lst hash.txt

or whatever. if that doesnt work, my suggestion would be 'man john' or maybe try including the entire path.

took me few sec from ftp://ftp.ox.ac.uk/pub/wordlists/

but i have problem, when i enter user and pass i get forbidden and i cant finish it,i tried clearing private data and re-typing but still can finish

This one seems to be down. i checked it and had the same problem… After entering the correct username and password i get a 404 Page not found.
