how do you find the .htac**** and .htpa**** file i tried some of everything and i keep getting that "Your own the right track…….blah blah

Read up on how .htaccess files work. All should become clear then.

(I've just completed this challenge btw. :)

Look up for the htaccess first because the htpasswd file doesn't always have the default name. Once you found the htaccess file you should know what to do next.
