Hey,

I'm stuck on basic 12. I googled about protecting folders and stuff, and learnt that you have files that are like .ht****** and stuff, but whenever I try to access these, I get a message saying: * You on the right track, but we have limited the files you can include. Keep trying! *

I can't think of what else to do.

Help please someone?

Thanks in advance,

Sarah

you are checking the wrong directory :D those files go in the directory you want to protect.

You're not going to be able to access the folder directly, you've already established that. You need to look for something that will show you anything you ask it to show you.

OK, I'm in the same situation as Sarah_Briarmoss and OpPeR. I know that I have to access the .hd i order to get the username and password. I know what I have to use (the thing that will show me anything I ask it to show me) to open it, because a simple access to the file is not possible. All the time I end up with "You are on the right track, but we have …" I have seen in other posts that this is because I am searching in the wrong directory. I think I've tried all the directories including P***D. What is the right path? Just a hint. PLEASE.

Well remember you're trying to get in the protected folder…and I have seen the mistake a lot where you put a slash in front of the subdirectory you want to access. For example, for this: markup*variable*=/folder/file.txt the correct syntax would be this: markup*variable*=folder/file.txt PM me if you still don't get it.
