Basic 6...still not getting it

Okay, so for once i have searched it out as far as i can go. I have looked up Unix commands so i know WHAT to use. I even found the directory after thinking for a while, know that the 2 files i need are in there, i even found BOTH file names. But when i go to type in the commands, i am following what i have read in like 10 of the threads on basic 6, but its still not working!! i remember to put the $ with the space after the $ but i still cant get it to work. I want to figure out the answer but i dont wanna put more information up about how to do this one, its not that its so hard you CANT figure it out, its just a syntax issue in my case  Can i PM the commands to someone and they can help me figure out what i am doing wrong?

Yea, you must be precise with the command you use.

that was the bad thing about this challenge.. even if you have the right command, if you dont write it exactly how its written as an answer then you're screwed.. you can pm with what you have if you still dont get it.
