Password Protect Areas

I'm using FreeHostia.

http://blahblah.freehostia.com/blah.html

That's not a true site (might be but it was an example), I found the Password Protect Areas part on FreeHostia under Site Management but it doesn't seem to lock that part of the site..

/www/—Choose path to file to block– In this case I chose http://blahblah.freehostia.com/blah.html

Didn't work, what did I do wrong?

You can only password protect folders, so in the box you would have to put "blahblah.freehostia.com" or put the file into its own folder and direct it to that (or so is my understanding).

URL.freehostia.com > Files > index.php

URL.freehostia.com > Folders > Logs > cookies.html

I tried locking the Logs folder, and it works, but for some reason cookies.html keeps "copying" to my files area..why does it keep doing this and how do I prevent it?

you have to make the submit butten redirect to the page you want to protect.
