2 sound cards

im trying to use my soundcard that a recently bought, and the soundcard built into my motherboard. but when i put the on e i bought in, it disables the other, is there a way to use both??

Why would you need the old (built-in) one? tho the new Sound cards are 7.1 channels, etc… But i think its difficult to do this (if possible) and may conflict…

it also depends on what chipset you use.
