autorun files.

How would i go about making an autorun file on anything (flash drives/cds) I tried this and it hasnt worked… in notepad

[autorun] open=iexplore.exe

and saved with .INF anyone know why that wouldent work or what else i need?

Make sure to use the full path to iexplore.exe

I don't know if files in the PATH will work, but you can add internet explorer's folder to the PATH and try it then.

The most autoruns work on CD s. And no other formate. I have a USB key that I would like to make a autorun on but that will nont work because it donbt have what it need. Det only thing I can make for i are a ICON *. But this was only a wild guess.;)

You must save it as autorun.inf ,not just as any .inf file. Also, I don't know if that works for a flash drive (But it sure works for CD). Read this guide http://autorun.moonvalley.com/autoruninf.htm

thanks guys. I tried including the whole path. i didnt save it as autorun.inf tho i had something else.inf. so i'll try that n post up whether it works on the flash or not

u3 software enabled flashdrives have a CD-ROM partition, i've seen a video (Hak.5) where they mod it to own a windows box its pluged into in like < 2 seconds :happy:
