That said, coming to a hacking website requesting help for things like windows drivers is just fucking embarrassing. Have fun utilizing moshbat's "amazing" skill in google'ing stuff.
Not to mention windows update via device manager. Works 99% of the time.
try installing this app, driver robot, which scans for drivers for hardware installed on your system, and then finds the appropriate drivers in their database.

- Did you have sound on the old PC before you installed Vista?
- What steps have you tried for installing the driver? Give details and multiple attempts.
- Have you checked the BIOS on the machine to see if there is an audio entry?
