dvdrw missing windows 7

maybe there's a guru in here that can help me on this. i have a pavillon dv6815nr since i have installed windows 7 (rc) the dvd is seen as a hdd ,i have tried all the fixes on the net ( removing reg string filters) ( mr fixit) and the command promt bcedit i believe, it just says drive :E notdvdrw or even cdrom, will not read either of the 2, now i know for a fact it is a windows driver problem. i have also tried the f8 to stop driver signing, and no it is not recognized in device manager as a rom just as a hdd. any help would be appreciated thank you in advance

I had this problem with a laptop I was using. I simply installed the Vista driver for it, and it worked fine. Win7 is just Vista++
