Problem with Internet

Ok, so my ISP is Comcast and i have a modem. It says that i am connected and i know i am. At first, after i log on, everything works fine but after like 10 minutes, the internet will just die or something. Like, i'll be on HBH and i'll refresh a page and then it says the page cannot be found and it gives me the error screen. I'll look down and the "online" part of my modem is on so i know that's bullshit and hell i've even tried waiting it out but internet never restarts. I use firefox too btw. The only way that i'm actually able to gain internet again is if i turn off the comp. then turn it back on.

I don't know what is wrong but if you guys know or can give some advice, it is needed.

Make sure you don't have that 'Automatically disconnect if connection usage is below xx%' option enabled (sorry, but I can't remember exactly where to find it)

go through the power cycle with the modem.

Open the window, tie your modem to a brick and hurl the combo at the first person you see.

Or just power cycle it your choice.

What kind of modem is it? Is it one of those cheap ones they give away when you sign up?

I'm not sure about Comcast, I don't live in America anyway, but my ISP gave us a modem when my dad signed up for broadband, only to have it ruined by lightning, thanks to my dad too. The best part is that we got a new modem :)

I'm not sure what's the main issue. it reads like "connect, run into errors, attempt to reconnect, couldn't reconnect, restart pc" is this correct?

It could be a Windows issue or a modem issue.
