Update

Hi guys and girls.

Few quick updates.

1. you can see when your EM expires.
2. you have the latest EM threads, on your panel, so feel free to use the EM forum more and others can quickly respond to you. Should add an extra layer of interaction between EM's
3. the new chat system is great! Add someone to your buddy list, and if their a EM member + online and signed into chat… you can use the online hbh chat system!

so make sure you grab some friends on HBH with EM, so you can chat with them once their online. we'll soon add SSL to this, so you';ll have encyrpted and secure chat, to prevent hte nosey parkers from reading your chat logs ;)

any suggestions/questions etc, post below!

How about adding SSL onto the private messaging system too, because undoubtedly, more people use that than the chat system at the moment, so it'd be nice to have that all nice and secured.

I'm sure alot is going on but i think a development team should be set up to help with mods to get more content on the site

yeah thats an idea! i'll chat with a few developers and we'll see what we can cme up with.

Maybe fully transform the shoutbox to AJAX? So the posting doesnt refresh the page, also, im not sure but i dont think the JS refresh for shoutbox works for everyone, at least not for me :/

I think that is a reasonable idea, but as I understand it if it was an auto refreshg for every 30 seconds using AJAX it will cause a bandwidth issue, and causing server down time. Or just generally slowing up the process.

yeah, well, theres gotta be a way around it :/ Also, it can't be that much bandwidth usage for that? cant it be done so it adds the newest post dynamicly and if the newest post equals a allready posted post it will not be added.. that would clean out some double posts as well :P also, forgot to mention: That AJAX POST part is easy to make, could be done in lika 20minutes without SACK, i volounter to make it, as im free all night long^^

well i ahve a bvad experience about PMing Cheese, hel probably read it like next week, il tell him on MSN later instead, althou, the script for the posting is allready written, all i have to do is test it on a PHP Fusion Shoutbox :P Well, that's what happens when you have an extra half hour free in school xD Too bad AJAX is so unsecure :/ else HBH could be AJAX entirelly, but with all the hack atempts made daily here, AJAX would be a serious security risk :/

Thx B) Im workin on adding some more features to the shoutbox that i had in mind when i started of, but i need to talk to Cheese first, and its a little to secret to talk to him on forum, also as i said before, i HATE PM xD

Sure :P Also, since were all EM here, i was hoping you could answer this Cheese, why did you rewrite the Shoutbox to an txt file? it really complicates hte development on it aswell as i can't find any reason why that should be better than mysql? trying to limit bandwidth to the SQL? but as far as the development for the system, im in :P Suppose its about the forum ? anyways, no mather what it is, im in, love to give something back to the community and for the admins that gave me so much then just some code :P

Online/Offline added, an initiate chat system button seesm pretty worthless since the chat system isnt working now anyway..

Just another Idea. The basic mission wiith the bot …Can't quite remember the exact number, but couldn we not host the mission on the HBH so people do not need to contact SM to get it turnt on.

Well that would be solved if we do get ircd on the ded. server :P
