Request for help
I want to see (and will end up writing) a request for help section.
I spend much of my week helping people (mainly with networking and coding, tbh i don't have the patience for hacking mentoring atm)
and i think this could be better organised, i'll set up a message board where you can post with what you need a hand with, and then people can look and help.
I'll put EM's requests at the top.
When you agree to help, it puts your name against the job, and spits out whatever contact details the poster left against the notice
for completing them, i think a) the original poster can remove the ad (and leave a plus, negative, or neutral feedback that affects the helper's CP and rating on the board) b) admins can remove, add, everything c) people who have been "endorsed" by admins (people like spy, mozzer) can remove jobs that have been done or are stupid d) people with a certain level of good feedback on the boards.
What do you guys think? i might do this next weekend
Sounds good, but i would be concerned that you will get a lot of "Need help with challenge x" messages when pple are too lazy to look through the articles/forums for help and would rather just let someone else do the hard work for them.
You would have to really spell out what sort of help requests pple can post in the new section or it will pretty quickly clutter up with spam!
Good idea, I think this would work very well as long as dumb questions don't get posted all the time.
How about this: When someone posts a help request then all words in the title is splitted into keywords and compared to all articles. If there is a match say on Basic 4 then it will popup and ask like "Have you read this article before you ask for help?" Yes – No
Good no?
Also, would be nice if the one that helped out gets community points, since that's what it's all about isn't it? :)
