HBH IRC is in Beta Testing!

Well now we have the IRC Client in Beta Testing so all EM's go out there and chat! :D

1. comes up with validation errors.
2. it should be within HBH, so you can still use shoutbox etc
3. your javascript onclicks are a bit fuxored.

Might be because i have a int in my name but i get the error:

Connecting… Logging in… – *** Looking up your hostname… – *** Checking ident – *** Found your hostname – *** No identd (auth) response Error : Closing Link: 127.0.0.1 (Invalid username [n=`]) Disconnected from chat.us.freenode.net

Also you do relize this is a way for other people to ban-evade from IRC………. If it's saying 127.0.0.1 it seems like it's HBH's ip connecting to the IRC server and not the client that wants to use the IRC.

@woody: Yeah im working on that, sorry for taking so long, no actually when it says 127.0.0.1 it means the clients ip, since its an java applet it downloads to your computer first then launches :P

I don't know whats worng….. You should send me the Pjirc scripts that you set up and i'll take a look at it…

I hope you do root_op otherwise everyone with a int on the start of thier nick willl be blacklisted from the HBH irc

Well im working on it actually, jsut that i ahve other things in my life aswell except HBH, but im finished with thtat now, so im going to give it a shot right now :)

Login fixed, it will now strip everything except a-z, i will try to fix so it only strip first char asap! Happy IRCing :P

You could make it where when you click on HBH irc it takes you to a page where you enter a nick and then when you click on submit it onclicks with the nick you put in ;)

so we're sticking with keeping the hbh name.

If all the admins register their nicks with FreeNode's nickserv, then nobody can impersonate an admin.

yeah i think all admins should do that, also i found a way to fix the usrname bug, but i havn't had time to implent it yet, il do it soon in an hour or later tonight:D

Shouldn't someone post some news on it ro something so it's more recognisable when you come here?

Nope, i'm Op on #hbh and im no admin ;)

The client has now been release pubicly in the navigation menu under "Communicate" as HBH irc, username bugg has been fixed aswell now and everything is set and ready to be used, hope you enjoy this new feature:D

I'm setting myself and cultmaster up as out liasons with freenode so i can set cloaks and manage a bit, but giving serious thougth to running our own ircd, means we can have more freedom.

Since HBH runs on dedicated server i think that would be a great idea :P Althou, some more management people would be needed i think?

when i remember a password that i need i'm going to set irc.hellboundhackers.org to resolve to irc.freenode.org.

apart from that, let me know if i should be setting up an ircd on the server, it's all pretty easy, i've done a couple before so i know the ins and outs.

i figure admins == services admins mods = net admins priv'd members = local ops.
