Pen Testing Linux

I know there are quite a few Pen Testing Linux's up for download, ive had a look at quite a few of them, but im just interested in what the HBH community would reccomend?:D

Oh by the way im using a wireless router so would there be any issues with Linux and wireless? If so is there something i can download to fix it?

BackTrack 2 is amazing. I'm using it right now and love it.

Any distro using the 2.6 kernel shouldn't give you too many problems with the wireless….but it all depends on your card.

Personally, I've taken a different approach to using the pentesting distros and started incorporating them into a full linux OS. Makes it easier to deal with, plus you have a full distro there for you when you're not doing pentesting.

I use slackware for all my linux needs and you can make separate partitions from your proper linux installation, put the live disc on that partition and mount it whenever you need it. Pretty easy on yourself doing it that way, I'll give the example of my primary laptop's partition setup.

hda1 reiserfs 15GB mounted to / ((the primary OS itself)) hda2 reiserfs 1GB mounted to /boot ((helps to protect my boot partition in-case my box is comprimised)) hda3 reiserfs 10GB mounted to /var ((helps vs log filling DDOS attacks)) hda4 reiserfs 50GB this is mounted to a folder and is where i store all my backup data hda5 ext3 6GB KnoppixSTD hda6 ext3 6GB Backtrack2 hda7 ext3 6GB Operator
