need help encrypting

the basic web hacking challenge #7 has me so lost. i went on google and searched for an encrypting tool and the only problems i had were knowing what im converting from and knowing what to convert. i just took the username as "sam" because that was all it asked for was a username and thats all i could find in the source. need to know what format it is in when it is in the source, it should be html right? but none of the converters have an html to ascII option. pls help jus found out aobut this site yesterday really want to get into this thnx.
