Command prompt

I was reading over some articles on this website and alot of them involved the command prompt. I understand it's where most of the 'hacking' takes place, but I really just don't understand it. Generally, and the specifics.

Besides the "codes" like nslookup and etc, what else goes in here? What are the codes for, what do they do? Is this the area where I would put in C++ or javascript? Heh, I feel like such a newbie ^_^

Also, I'm looking for some other general hacking websites for some basics. Some people gave me links in my last post, but they seem a little broad in a way from which it's hard to learn from, especially the languages. They're still useful, but not what i'm looking for.

Speaking of languages, I'm taking a C++ course next year. I'm going to take another class of another language, hopefully this summer. I already took one of basic HTML which worked out nicely. So i'm wondering what you guys would recommend to go onto next. Java, PHP, another course in HTML?

  • thanks.
