new wallpaper challenge

i was wondering why the size of the wallpaper has to be 1280x1024 because i have mine finished, but it isnt that size. and if i make it that size it will be all pixeled out and gayified. but if it isnt that size it looks pretty nice.

its prolly because if you make a large pic smaller its still good, so with the larger wallpaper it doesnt matter what you screen resolution is. it always looks good

while if you strech a small wallpaper because you screen res is bigger, it just looks ugly

normal sized screen res is 1280x1024

not sure about that, i still see lots of ppl with 1024 768

People with 1024x768 can view a wallpaper of 1280x1024 with no problem ;)

It's better to make a wallpaper with a rather high res.
