Hacking simulators/games

Just to let everyone know that there are now quite a few 'hacking simulator' games on the market now, Since the original Uplink..

The ones i have found so far.. Digital Hazard Bluesky Hacker2003 aka mindlink dark signs

I have tried a couple of them and they are quite good.. One especially 'blue sky' i found quite good…

They are also alot more realistic than uplink, For example bluesky and digital hazard.. You actually have a console open and the issue commands via that…

Just thought i'd post if anyones interested in these sort of games

I think thats more likely. Don't waste ur time playing games like that, if you can actually do what is in that games ( ok not literally but still :))

Ok granted its not as good as the real thing, but still fun. The best i've found is 'street hacker'. Available at all good torrent sites :p

Don't forget Hacker Evolution, it's fun but it gets really frustrating because not enough is explained.

Do any of these actually teach you anything/practice for actually hacking or are they just games?

The games listed above, which I have played most of, are not meant to teach you anything, they are just meant to be fun .
I personally like much more realistic "games", such as Foundstones hacme bookstore / casino / bank etc., webgoat, the challenges on damn vulnerable linux and for more of a network hacking challenge De-ice.net's live cd's. The realistic websites, programs, and networks that you have to break into is alot more excilerating for me ;)

I haven't played it but i doubt it is realistic. Like someone stated above, they're made for fun. They're not particularly targeting the audience of people who have some skill at hacking and want to learn more.
