How about a quick spell and coherency check on articles and news posts?

yeah that and a grammer checker :P

news posts we can do. However we cant control article content, so that will have to be up to the users submitting them.

It would be useful if we had something similar to the spell checker on linuxquestions.org, the spell checker is optional.

I would bet money that most people still wouldn't use it, lol.

If people don't spell check their articles then don't publish them.

A problem though is that this is a hacking/programming site so something like "xss" or "html" wouldn't make sense to a spell checker and would mark it as bad.

There could be up to around 40 stops where the admins would have to tell it to ignore and this would just be very time consuming.

You can add those words to the dictionary. It wouldn't be that difficult
