Creating PDF Documents

I need to create a rather large PDF document, I don't know what materials I need to do this nor do I know HOW to do it.

Anyone have suggestions? (ziggy - I'm checking out your suggestions atm)

OpenOffice.Org has the ability to export documents to PDF files. You can include images in the documents and everything. Pretty useful office suite.

Failing that, google for "Primo PDF" or "PDFill".. these two pdf exporters set up as virtual printers, so to pdf a document, install the program, go to your preferend word processing software package, and just click print, and chose the PDF creator as the printer, a secondary window will pop up and there you go :)
