Bootable jump drive with Linux
Im trying to make my jump drive boot Linux. Preferably Knoppix the Audit edition.
Its a 1gig Lexar. I formatted it with the HP Tool, then made it bootable with syslinux. I've tried copying 2 different versions of linux live CDs to the jump drive.
I was able to successfully boot off the drive but it keeps telling me that the bootable image can't be found.
I tried typing in the actual image name then at the "boot:" prompt then it tells me that the image is corrupt. Even thought the same image works booting from CD?
Has anyone here done this successfully? I really have no real purpose for wanting to do this other than CDs scratch easily and a jump drive is just easier to carry and conceal. (ANd I can download and change files on a jump drive) I like Knoppix Audit edition because of its many useful security tools pre-installed…
