Not as much as you think.
Between the 3 boxes at my house that have shared storage we have about 4 TB, plus system disks.. and it's mostly gone..
TB ain't what she used to be…

And what the hell is your real job, making digital backup of whole Warner Bros production ??:D
nway now my dream computer is msi wind ;) which I'm hopefully getting in few weeks…
Eh, I for the most part typically ONLY code with my computer. I download very little media like movies and shit, because I don't watch them :p. Virtually the only thing I use my PC for is coding and music, and I'm dabbing with design now but I suck at it. So my 500 gigs of HD space, AMD Athlon X2 3800+ CPU and a geforce 8600 with a 22 inch wide screen monitor and 5.1 surround sound card as my main PC is more than enough. I got a few laptops too, but again I don't really game (except a little counter-strike). I'm happy with the PC and 2 laptops I've got, I live on a farm so I have plenty of things to be doing when not sitting at the computer and coding :p. If I were to sit at a computer and use it for all my entertainment every day all day my coding would probably start to suffer.
My current PC as well
AMD Athlon X2 6000+ @ 3.0GHz @ ~36ºC/40º under heavy load Asus M2A-MVP mobo 4GB PC2-6400 and PC2-5300 RAM (2GB 800 now, adding 2 gigs of 667 when it ships in tomorrow) 750GB and 250GB Seagate SATA HDDs and a few old IDE HDDs (~1TB) DL DVD-RW drive Dual LCD displays, native 1600x1200 and 1280x1024 GeForce 8800GT 512 256bit Only a 450W PSU, but it does its job very well, never had an issue yet Antec Apevia blue case: Analog gauges on the front for volume, temperature, and fan, and window on side (Blue LED lighting) Uber soundsystem, killer bass (subwoofers pwn ^_^) Genius pen tablet (6" x 10") Saitek Eclipse lighted keyboard RAZER 7-button gaming mouse

My computer is 滝丸ちゃん (takimaru-chan) "most perfect" My computer is my child, my baby. I love her ^_^ OK so maybe I'm a fr3ak… but I don't care. My computer is the fastest one I've ever actually laid eyes on! Including Chris's that he built from newegg, with a budget of $1300! I have spent, to this date, only $850-900 on mine!

nice…..:)
It looks kind of… not good.
I'm going to be looking for a new laptop soon. I usually go for cheap and functional, but I want to have access to wireless and have a 64 bit processor. Need to build up the bank account first.
basics of my current desktop: P4 CPU 3.00 GHz, 896MB of RAM, 160GB hd (and a 320BG external).

I'm the same way… I suppose that's either an "old-school" mentality, or the mentality of people that use the computer less for gaming. About 7 years ago, I was still using a Pentium 66Mhz Toshiba laptop running Windows 95. Obviously, I felt the need to upgrade not too long ago, so I now have a Gateway ML6732 (only because of the price: $0) and eeePC 701 4G. The eee is more than powerful enough to do the majority of things anyone would want to do outside of modern games, Photoshop, and VMWare.
So, when it comes to laptops / PDAs, I definitely aim for portability / convenience before specs. The eeePC is so small that it looks like an organizer in its default black sleeve. I'm looking into smaller ones, though… closer to the size of my DS would be ideal, so that I could just carry it around in my pocket. Here's one, but they're sold out on their first production batch:
Last time I checked, Zaurus handhelds are still being ridiculously priced for the specs… so, I guess I'll just wait to see what other QWERTY-capable handhelds I can find.
With desktops, I don't really care what the specs are as long as three things are true:
- >=2GB RAM
- >=250GB HDD
- >=128MB Video Card
Again… not a big gamer at all.
DBDWarrior wrote: i'ma big gamer so having a powerful computer is usually what excites me. although yes, girls are wonderful bahhaahahh….hah..trouble..lol.
I'm not sure which should be more embarassing for you: the fact that you threw in girls as an afterthought (since it wouldn't be understood), or the fact that you compared a multi-purpose powerhouse computer to a limited-function (but quite useful) girl.
DBDWarrior wrote: well i've had my fair share of girls, so they can get rather annoying at times. and no offense, but having your eyes on girls all the time is kinda immature. i have better things to do then waste my time on girls. i hate the fucking drama they cause. most are all the same. =P
Think more "ladies' man", not "stalker". Learn to let them talk without you listening most of the time, and just smile and support whatever bullshit they say. Oh, and they're not all the same… they're all different flavors. :D
… but, yeah, you shouldn't waste your time on girls. :P
