I loved reading this story this morning… I'm hoping that the method used will be put out by the group 'Anonymous'! This not only goes against her hiding government e-mails in personal e-mail as she denied but it shows that maybe she should of used something more secure than yahoo when your birthday and zip code are public! I'm still looking for decent screenshots though…

Thanks spyware… I figured they'd be removed as the secret service asked AP to remove them but this of course is the internet… once let free here, it exists somewhere… I know had I seen this story as soon as it came out that I'd of saved all I could… don't like Caribou Barbie much…

Hmm, I wonder if this might work in her favour however? The general public will probably see her as being victimized by 'evil hackers' and the 'media'. Meh, I don't really follow US politics much. She was pretty fucking stupid to use Yahoo for work stuff though. She probably thought gov.* was the same as *,gov, lol.

I just googled her name and found this, "Sarah Palin, is an evangelical Protestant with a strong record of opposition to abortion and an openness to teaching creationism". Dumb bitch . How can we have someone like that be the Vice President for one of the biggest countries in the world?

That's just the tip of the iceberg, dude. Tip. Iceberg, I tell you.

The iceberg keeps going… she is a vindictive woman who cries sexism at any challenge… she's Bush in a bra. And if you feel your jaw dropping wondering how anyone can support this woman, try being an American as I am… Obama was going as a sure shot but then this woman comes along who has all the religious nuts following here! Thank goodness the economy took a dump and John McCain is not good at the economy, in his own words…

Amen to that shit. If anyone votes Republican after the economic crap and gas shortages that we've been seeing, then they're just an ignorant redneck. The pursuit of money has always been known to end badly… apparently, it takes a FEW repeats of history to learn that lesson in the inbred-centric areas.

Palin has a lot of personal problems IMO. Her daughter became pregnant at a young age (and she birthed a child with Down Syndrome), there is a scandal involving her husband, and she (nothing against the women) was simply chosen for the following facts:

A. She is a woman -to counter the fact that Obama is black (to give her celebrity status, note the fact that her sex is gaining attention as opposed to Obama's race now in politics), to gain popularity with the women, as well to pick up the disgruntled Hillary voters B. She is viewed as a very religious individual: anti-abortion, devout Christian

I could bad mouth the Democrats as easily as I could the Republicans. The Dems were the party of the KKK (Did you know the a guy still in Congress with KKK affiliations is the "honorable" Senator Robert 'KKK' Byrd of West Virginia. the longest serving dem senator there? He had the audacity to attempt to filibuster-prevent from passing- the Civil Rights Act of 1964), though they were founded by Andrew Jackson (who was a racist and allowed harsh treatment of the black and native population there), who reduced America's debt to the lowest it has ever been in history, and true to their word, were the party of the working man.

The Republicans were founded by Abraham Lincoln, and they initially helped to keep America together united as one nation, and if Lincoln had not shown the sternness that he did, the course of US history would have been much different. Interestingly enough, the man in my picture ran as a Republican (Ron Paul), and he is seen with a placard (the proper word escapes me), which is very atypical of modern Republicans.

Both parties have been beneficial to this nation, and now, both have become corrupt and detrimental to this nation. Yes, the pursuit of money has been very detrimental to this nation and it played a part in the horrific foreign policy which is already biting us in the ass.

[edit]Sorry if parts of this argument don't flow very nicely, I've edited this at least a good 30+ times[/edit]

For pwnzall, remember some basic points from your statements… I liked them and reflect much of the reason George Washington said in his farewell adress that only have two parties would be devisive and the death of America… and when talking about Lincoln, remember that at the time of Lincoln, the Republican party was liberal… they were not conservitive by nature until after WWII and by the time of Nixon, they were then Progressive but now they've evolved to this socially based system that really scares me… the democrats are the opposite on swing, explaining Byrd who never left the party but the focus of the party left him… but I like Ron Paul… hope to hear more from him in the next few years!

Someone here doesn't understand the US government system here… The President has no control over how the money is spent. He makes up a budget, note, that Congress approves, adds BS onto it so they can get extra money for their constituents, and then Congress spends the money. The main thing that the President has major control on is foreign policy, about which Obama and Palin know jack.

Everyone can cry about Bill Clinton supposedly having surplus (not true - the national debt consistently rose while he was in office). But the real reason the economy went down the tube is because of economic bubbles bursting because of speculation. Bush (note, I don't like him either, I just have to live with choosing between evils) got the lousy end of the stick by inheriting the Dot com bubble burst, and it just went downhill from there.

Maybe if the government would stop borrowing money from social security to pay their bills, which is what drives a major part of the national debt, we could get out of this, but it'll take a lot more then a group of vapor coming from politicians.

Sounds like the 'hackers' didn't actually cause any damage, they just got access to the account and then made it known that they had done so.

Someone here doesn't know how to read. I specifically attacked the Republicans, not the President… the President is just a puppet on a string for the party. However, if I were to attack the President, my point would be short and sweet:

We've been "at war" for how many years? Are you aware of the extension of executive powers that a President gets in a time of war? …Do you think war is free?

Ah, you see, I was under the impression that you were attacking one Republican in particular. Actually, I wouldn't mind having one side Republican (like, say, President?) then having a Democratic Congress. If they're arguing too much, then they can't steal our money as easily.

And I totally agree on the problem with the war. You see, the problem is we've declared war on an ideal (drugs, terrorism). As long as the ideas exist within the hearts of men, then we've declared an indefinite war.

Anyone else here ever read 1984? This reminds me of it.

Exactly… and the war was extended longer than necessary so that Bush could sway the election for his second-term. In times of war, voters are less likely to embrace the idea of a new President. That is where our economic issues stem from directly.

Yes, at war, niceties such as political freedom are often usurped and a quasi-fascist state is imposed upon the people with little resistence. That part we agree with. What I disagree with you about is who to lay the blame on. I don't see why it is ONLY either "spineless libs" or "war mongering 'republican'ts'" causing all the trouble in the eyes of the other. As zbert said before, George Washington said before in his Farewall Address to beware of political parties that they would split the nation. Lincoln said a divided house can not stand.

My question to you… if Republicans and Democrats (speaking of politicians) make the same money, submit to lobbyists, and get caught in similar scandals, what makes one the good guy, and one the bad (I ask this with no intention to insult neither you, Republicans or Democrats)?

Thanks, I like the Ron Paul pic by the way… I'll say, I'm a vet of Iraq and I've got a vedetta against the people who voted for that war, regardless of party. I tend to be a left leaning independant but the 2006 and this election, I'm voting against the war on a large part. I will say that politicians should be changed often… they become corrupt the longer they are in!

no… it was a generic public email account with guessable settings. I don't think it's in any technical category.

she had to correctly answer the question, "Where did you meet your spouse?" The correct response, as deduced by the person who infiltrated the account: "Wasilla High."

I dont know at least this was known in public so that any person could have got into the account.

Everyone has parents, so what? Boy should be awarded a medal for showing the public this hypocrisy. First, the current republican pressure caused privacy to cease to exist. Project Echelon is watching, always. Then Sarah's private mail account, which she used to communicate about non-private matters, gets hacked and partially exposed. Suddenly all the republicans scream "no respect for privacy" and "personal mail is personal!" and whatnot. They are either IDIOTS or HYPOCRITES, probably both.

Echelon made sure that private mails get SIGINT'ed before you can say "unbalanced and unfair".

My email provider doesn't actually have a password reset option. Inconvenient if you forget your password, however a whole lot more secure.

Haha I think it's hilarious that in some news stories they state that Anonymous is an Internet hacker group of 'over 9000' members. (For those of you who don't know over 9000 is a meme)

Anonymous is a large group of people. This large group includes paedophiles, thieves and hackers. This large group also includes your neighbour, several police officers, the woman from the grocery store and your son.

Damn it. Large groups. When will the media understand the principle of a LARGE, DIVERSE GROUP OF PEOPLE.

mmmmm yes indeed. It's funny how some people are just so oblivious when it comes to simple security online.

I hacked a female classmate's email a couple of year's back. Her email was registered with some obscure christian domain and her password reset question was… her NAME.

(Obviously I gave her her new password, and did cop some shit for doing what I did. In hindsight, I shouldn't have done that to a friend)

.. I wasn't saying "no respect for privacy" I was merely stating the fact that he is a son of the government. He won't get into trouble because of this. I know its blatantly obvious not to use a public domain email address for government issues, and that they are hypocrites, idiots, and liars. I think though, we could take notes from this kid though, anything is possible if you find out enough information on your target.

Not to mention the fact that it's against the law for a government official to use a non-government email address to conduct/discuss government business.

The fact that David Kernell is the son of a government official is icing on the cake in book. As bl4ckc4t stated, he probably won't be punished too harshly, however I agree totally with spyware, Sarah Palin was completely out of line for using a private email provider and then crying wolf. She has gotten what she deserves. Hopefully the country will see what will be in store for us if the McCain camp is allowed in office.
