I can bring everyone to the first page that google finds with a keyword

For this example I used "Cheese" as keyword. Go to google.com, and search for "Cheese" - you will see the first page that google finds is the same page as you get when you click the link above.

Why is this?

yep you're right. But why does it take you to google, and then goes to the first page that google finds with the keyword?

Because a lot of people's internet options have been configured so it can search through the URL bar using keywords
