also what resources are you using to teach your self java because a far as i see it this.. http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/index.html could be of grate use to you to check out all the methods you will need to help solve your problem etc etc

That's all I could find. The first link will direct you to some book, it looks like an encyclopedia of java. The second link is wikipedia (duh), there's sample code and examples there. Sorry I can't be more of help, I don't know Java :/.
